BLOG TOUR REVIEW: Perfectly Flawed by Dani René

Title: Perfectly Flawed
Author: Dani René
Genre: New Adult Romance Standalone
Release Date: September 24, 2018

This new adult, emotional rollercoaster that’s hitting Kindles on September 24th is one of the most anticipated romances of 2018!

I was fourteen when I met him, danced with him, and fell for him.
I was sixteen when Ryder left me with a forbidden promise.
Now I’m twenty, and he’s back, but he has a secret.
I walked out as the boy Piper had loved for far too long.
Now I’m back as a man who’s broken, angry, and flawed.
Yet, each time she looks at me, it’s as if I’m perfect.
Can we have a second chance at love?
Or will our next dance be our last?

*This is a standalone new adult romance with mature themes.*

I love second chance romance books and this one melted my heart.” - Paula D (Goodreads Reviewer)
“Such a unique and captivating story, comprising of so much emotion and love, layered with twists and turns I never saw coming.” - Cupcakes and Bookshelves
"He is such an excellent mix of angry and sweet (perfect bad boy material) that at times I hated him and loved him. The "perfect" angsty love story."- Ginger (Goodreads Reviewer)
"Perfectly Flawed is a beautifully broken, perfectly rebuilt story that everyone needs to read." - Wonder Tre Reads
"This is Dani René's first attempt at New Adult romance, and I have to say, it reads as if she's done this before. It's sweet and edgy all at once and carries some great thought-provoking messages about love" - The Reading Cat

I’m relatively new to Dani René, I had only read three of her books when she was working on Perfectly Flawed and I was debating on whether or not to read it. The synopsis intrigued me, but it wasn’t until I saw a teaser for it that really had me thinking, oh, yeah, I'm going to read it! I was very excited and when I finally started and finished it, it wasn’t what expected. I really wanted to love Perfectly Flawed, but I didn’t love it or even particularly like or enjoy it. It had nothing to do with Ms. René’s writing though and I don’t regret reading it because while I wasn’t really feeling this book, I loved the idea/message behind it and I loved that the hero and heroine were able to overcome the obstacles in their way.

There were good aspects to Perfectly Flawed. It surprised me in some ways both good and not so good and not at all in others. It was sweet and heart melting and had beautiful moments. It frustrated me at times, but it did engage me and make me react. My experience of reading Perfectly Flawed didn’t turn out like I thought it would, but I don’t feel disappointed with it. The writing truly was excellent and I will read Ms. René again.

COVER REVEAL: Fall by Kristen Callihan

The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways.

In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip.

Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands.

Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that.
Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor.

An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room.

Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun.

Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything.

All we have to do is trust enough to fall.

Sonja's Review

One of my best book friends messaged me at the end of July and told me that she read this book that I was going to love and before she told me what it was, I saw a post that she shared of Beautiful Inferno. I went to check it out and sure enough, it sounded exactly like my kind of book, so I made the decision right then and there that I would pick it up as soon as I could! I am so glad that I did and that my friend told me about it, because I absolutely LOVED Beautiful Inferno — it was ah-mah-zing and I could not get enough of it!

And when I say that I couldn’t get enough of Beautiful Inferno, I really mean it. I would have read it in one sitting, but it was fast approaching midnight and even though I only had 26 minutes left to go, I really needed to get my dogs fed. I usually do it earlier and can pull myself away from whatever my current read is, but I was so captivated by Zeke and Maya’s story that I just had to know what would happen next. Beautiful Inferno made my heart ache both in the good way and the painful one. It was the kind of ache where it hurts, but it hurts so good, you know what I mean? And I couldn’t leave until I knew for sure that Zeke and Maya were solid. I wanted them to be together so much because they truly belong together.

Zeke and Maya’s love story is beautiful and heartbreaking and so right. Their love is not dirty or wrong, it never felt that way, not even for a moment. So while Beautiful Inferno might be a taboo story, it’s not cheap or just full of naughty times although we do get a couple of those steamy, sensual moments. It was wonderful and it’s one of my favorite taboo books of the year!
