SYNOPSIS

Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, something extraordinary comes along that knocks you on your ass…

“Wolf”
I’m a simple man with simple values. You either love me or you hate me, but the ones who need me, always got me. I’m the self-proclaimed Wolf of the Satan’s Knights MC, the beast who will fight his way out of any dark alley to defend your honor. The brother you call upon when you’ve lost your faith in humanity.
However, secrets and lies are the cancer of a man’s soul. Exposed, they will eat away all that is good and leave nothing but destruction in their wake. They’ll prove the best intentions sometimes fail and leave you questioning your life’s choices.
Now, searching for a purpose, I find myself facing the ride of my existence with a woman just as jaded as me. As she fights the biggest battle of her life, I want to be the man who stands by her side. The man who ain’t afraid to ride the edge of misery because he knows there is something beautiful on the other side…

“Maria”
I’ve prevailed against the mob, a deadbeat ex-husband and the woes of being a single mother. While someone else may have wished for a different life, I believe I’m stronger for everything I’ve endured. I’m someone who speaks her mind and fights for what is right. A woman who will smack you upside the head with a frying pan and ask questions later.
Terrified of love, I’m an otherwise fearless woman.
Until a doctor solemnly diagnoses me and my strength falters.
Now as fear engulfs me, an unexpected man dressed in leather, holds out his hand.
As a woman who never needed anyone, I suddenly need him.
His assurance.
His strength.
His love.

Excerpt

“Lady,” Al murmurs next to me. “You’re crying.”
You will cry.
You will grieve.
Brushing my tears away with the backs of my hands, I turn to him. His handsome face is etched with concern and my heart swells at the sight.
All you young girls reading this story, I want you to pay close attention to what I’m about to tell you. One day you’re going to come across a man who will worship the ground you walk on. It might not happen when you’re in your twenties or even in your thirties. Maybe he’ll come to you in your forties like mine came to me. The point is, don’t spend your life worrying about whether you’ll find him. You will. He’ll come storming into your life when you need him most and he will cherish you.
Be patient.
Enjoy life and stop wasting your dreams on half-assed men who aren’t worth your time.
Remember every woman deserves a man who will kiss her like he means it and hold her like it’ll kill him if he lets go.
Not every man is a cheat and they all don’t lie.
There’s a man waiting to wipe the tears caused by the men who came before him. He’ll be your strength when yours falters and he’ll stand tall when life throws you a curve ball. A man who will proudly tell the whole world you are his.
His survivor.
His love.
His everything.
He’ll love you like you’ve never been loved before and will show you every single day. It’ll be in his touch and the way he looks at you.
“Maria—”
Lifting my finger to his lips, I silence him.
It’s my turn.
My moment.
“I love you,” I whisper. “I should’ve said it when you did but—”
“You mean it?”
“Of course, I mean it. You’re the best surprise of my life.”
“Then it doesn’t matter when you said it,” he rasps, pulling me into his arms. “C’mere, Lady,” he murmurs, enveloping me in his strong embrace. “I love you too.”
“I know,”
Oh, and ladies, one more thing—
Hold on tight.
Hold on with all you got because like you’re worthy, so is he.

Sonja's Review

I loved Wolf probably from the minute I met him — he was fun and just said whatever he wanted to and whatever needed to be said, no matter if you wanted to hear it or not. And for a little while in the beginning there, I wanted Wolf to have his story as I really adore him and I knew I would love to spend virtually a whole book inside his head, but at the same time, it was a little weird for me just because Wolf feels like the dad of this group of loyal, rough and dirty, crazy men and it was hard for me to imagine seeing him in a different light. But then, I read Pipe’s story after also being a little on the fence for somewhat similar and different reasons and I loved it so much — that man is seriously sexy— that I became really excited to see Wolf have his chance to be the hero! And From the Ruins has been my favorite ever since I read it, but it’s safe to say that Riding the Edge definitely has that honor now. It was even better than I was hoping for — it was beyond amazing.

Riding the Edge gave me all the feels. It broke my heart and made it ache, it made my eyes sting with tears, and I got those bittersweet feelings too. It also warmed me and made me laugh and smile. It was beautiful and hard, it was full of depth and so much heart. I wholeheartedly loved Wolf and Maria and their story — it was breathtaking and timeless and one of the best I’ve read all year.

RELEASE REVIEW: Stygian by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Title: Stygian
Author: Sherrilyn Kenyon
Series: Dark-Hunter, #27
Publisher: Tor Books
Publication Date: August 28, 2018

Synopsis:
Born before man recorded time, I lived for thousands of years believing myself to be something I’m not.

Someone I’m not.

Lied to and betrayed by gods, Daimons and Dark-Hunters, I’ve struggled to find my way in a world where I’ve been cursed since the moment I was prematurely ripped from my mother and planted into the womb of an innocent woman who thought me her son.

Trained as a slayer and predator, I learned to fit in and stay low. To become a tool for evil. Until I was sent to kill the one woman I couldn’t. My hesitation cost her her life.

Or so I thought. In an act of betrayal that makes all the others pale in comparison, I’ve learned that this world is an illusion and that my Phoebe still lives.

Now I will have to travel into the very pits of Hades to try and save her, even as everyone around me attempts to steal what little soul I have left. There’s only one person at my back and I’m not sure I can trust her either, for she was born of an enemy race. Yet sometimes the road to redemption is one that singes us to our very core. And if I fail to find the answers I need to save Phoebe, more than just my wife will die.

We will lose the world. Both human and Daimon.

Sonja’s Review

I have been wanting to read Urian’s story for a long time now and when I realized that Stygian was his book, I was beside myself with excitement! I couldn’t wait to read it, but of course, being me, I didn’t immediately dive in as soon as I got it because I apparently like to torture myself, plus I also knew that I was in for a lot of angst — no one does angst like or better than Sherrilyn Kenyon — and I suppose I just wasn’t ready for that yet. It didn’t take me long to overcome that though and once I started Stygian, I hated whenever I had to stop. It was heart wrenching to read at times as I expected, but there was much about Stygian that was unexpected and I loved that. It was amazing to finally see Urian find his happiness — I just loved him and this book!

Stygian was a long book to read, but I didn’t mind that, I loved getting to revisit this world and all the characters and spend so much time with them because it’s been too long. There were many elements to this book and it was full of twists and turns, secrets and revelations, and it left me with some questions and thoughts to ruminate over. Stygian made my heart ache, it brought tears to my eyes, it made me furious and made me yell. There were moments that were crushing to read , but there were also times that made me laugh and smile and just thoroughly entertained me. Stygian was wonderful and so worth the wait and I am beyond excited for the next book!

RELEASE DAY REVIEW: Perception by Kendra Leigh

Title: Perception
Author: Kendra Leigh
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: August 30, 2018

Blurb

Jackson Dean is a changed man—at least he thinks he is—but when a brush with the past leads him back into territory he’s long since left behind, he finds himself at war with his conscience. Snatching Savannah Harper from a Brooklyn street may have been okay with the wild and reckless guy he used to be, but what about now?

Savannah is used to a life of brutality at the hands of her husband, but being stuffed into the trunk of a car by a brown-eyed stranger injects a fresh wave of terror into her heart.

What transpires between Jackson and Savannah surprises both of them. Despite the unconventional way they’re thrown together, they form a bond that begins to challenge everything they know.

His Past. Her present. Their future.

Surrendering to the feelings they’ve unearthed will be a minefield, but it’s going up against the unknown that tests them to their limits.

As the lines between perception and reality blur, it appears that nothing is as it seems.

Perceptionis not reality… and reality can be soul-destroying.

Perception is a standalone romantic suspense novel featuring a favorite character from The Bound Trilogy. If you enjoy reading stories about strong women and their journeys from victim to survivor, and the men who will go to any lengths to fight for the women they fall for, then you will love this #MeToo inspired heart-wrenching romance.

Paige's Review

I don’t think I can remember the exact moment that I fell for Jackson in The Bound Trilogy, but when I did, I fell hard — I just loved him and I wanted his story more than anything! And the moment when Ms. Leigh confirmed that she was indeed going to write about him next... well, I was beside myself with excitement and there was lots of high-pitched squealing and jumping up and down. The wait was long (although truthfully any wait would have been long even if it had only been a three month waiting period like we experienced with The Bound Trilogy books because I wanted to read his book so badly), but it was beyond worth it. Perception was truly exceptional, there is nothing I would change or want different, and it is the absolute best book that I’ve read all year!

Perception was different from The Bound Trilogy in a lot of ways, but the one way and the most important way that it wasn’t different, was how Perception affected me. I felt so much reading Ethan and Angel’s story and I felt just as much or more reading about Jackson and Savannah. I felt their pain and heartache, their fury and determination, and their joy and love as if it was my own. My heart broke for Jackson and Savannah, I wanted to sob and curse and at some points, I felt a touch homicidal too. There are hard moments to read in Perception, but it was also so sweet and warm and that giddy peaceful feeling you get sometimes while I was reading Jackson and Savannah's story. The love connection between them is so real and right, I loved and adored their journey.

I loved and adored them just as much. Savannah is in an unbearable, horrible situation, but I never thought of her as weak. She is unbreakable, she is strong, and she is fierce. She is a fighter, she’s determined and stubborn, and she is a survivor. Savannah is amazing and I have so much respect and love for her, you don’t even know — she’s worth it to get to know and I know you will be just as impressed and taken with her as I am.

And Jackson, of course, I couldn’t get away without talking about my Jackson. Oh, I just wholeheartedly love that man, he’s wonderful and impossible not to love. I loved seeing that warm, silly, playful side that we got to see a little bit with Angel, but even more so with Savannah. Jackson is true and honorable, he’s patient, compassionate, kind, and just a rock. Jackson will always be there for the people he loves and cares about and he would do anything for them He’s just as amazing as Savannah — you can’t any better with these two!

Perception was captivating, thought provoking, and deep. It was a romance and a beautiful one at that, but it was much more than just a simple love story. It was about hope, surviving and overcoming, empowerment, and finding and believing in yourself. Perception was beautiful, phenomenal, and inspirational. It touched every part of me and it is my favorite read of 2018 as well as the best one!

Author Bio

Kendra Leigh fell in love with words and reading as a young child. She was at her happiest when Enid Blyton whisked her away up into the magical lands at the top of the Faraway Tree with Moon-face and the rest of the gang.

Now, of course, she has more of a fondness for chocolate, cheese and hot men in suits - not necessarily in that order.

Kendra devotes her life to her devilishly handsome partner, scandalously beautiful daughter and cute as hell Shih-Tzu. She believes in love at first sight, and as well as writing and reading, Kendra has a passion for great movies and brilliantly written TV.

Case closed ~ JAYLYN

“What a complicated story!!!! What a glorious day of entertainment it gave me. I am so happy that I had a good block of time so that I could devour every last amazing page.” - Trudy Dowling

“Wow! This one will set hearts on fire and tear down the walls so carefully obtained by thinking you are unlovable!” - Sheridan

“Wow! Another great book from Kelly Gendron. I've thoroughly enjoyed every book I've read from her.” - Denise Whited

“Babe.” His dark eyes sway to my mouth, and during the brief pause of silence, my hormones dare my fingers to reach out and touch him. “We passed professional a few minutes ago when I heard about your secret pole dancing stunt, not to mention, seeing your intimate apparel. I’m sorry.” He shakes his head with a low tsk-tsk. “There’s just no going back from that, Jaylyn.”
“You must try.” I clutch the gown to my chest, loathing the way my name sounds spoken in his low, raspy distinctive voice … loathing the way I want to hear him whisper it in my ear while he’s …
“Not gonna happen.” He taps my thigh as though it’s been settled. “Now, you need a ride home, and I’m here, willing, and able.”
“I don’t want a ride home from you!” I don’t want anything from him, nor do I want to be alone with him. I don’t want him at my apartment, the very place where I need to go to put some clothes on. I need clothes. I need my yoga pants and a tee shirt—a stained, already worked out in, smelly, offensive tee shirt. The getup I have on, the way Steele Kane’s looking at me … God, I haven’t felt this sexy since …
“No, maybe not, but the way I see it, what you want really doesn’t matter right now, does it? Or would you rather stay here for the night?” His head tilts back, and a wolfish grin strikes his mouth as though he already knows the answer. “Don’t worry, I won’t hold this naughty little stunt against you. I like to play dirty, but I’d never resort to blackmail, extortion, or using force. At least, not the unwanted kind to get what I want.” He winks.
“And what exactly do you want?” I sit up straight, ignoring the sexy little twitch of his left eye.
“Only to get you safely home.”
I glare at him, tightening the gown around me. “And that’s it?”
“Yes, Miss Rigsby, that is it.”

Where can you find USA Today Bestselling Author, Kelly Gendron writing her steamy, blush producing romances? Usually, she’s tucked away in a quiet suburb somewhere in the upper EST area. But, when she’s not creating HEA stories, you can find her representing a reputable group of nursing facilities in the WNY area. If you Google her, she’ll pop up there too. And, please, google her. Kelly loves to hear from her readers and to meet new people!

Kelly's Motto ~ "Bad boys, give 'em a little time and experience and they will evolve into misbehaving men!"

Sonja's Review

I was looking forward to reading Steele and it intrigued me from the very beginning. I keep expecting for the books in Daring the Kane Brothers series to have that same type of suspense as Breaking the Declan Brothers and it keeps surprising me when there isn’t. Steele and Token have been great without that aspect though, they’ve just been a different side of Kelly Gendron for me. And I really liked Steele, it tugged on my heartstrings a little and was a nice little addition to the series.

I liked Steele more than Token and it was easy for me connect to the story. It was an enjoyable read with tension, banter, and challenges. I loved Steele and Jaylyn and I’m glad they were able to come together. Steele put a smile on my face all throughout the book and especially at the end. You can bet that I’ll definitely be on the lookout for the next brother’s book!
