BLOG TOUR REVIEW: Loner by Janine Infante Bosco

LONER
by Janine Infante Bosco
Nomad, #4
Publication Date: February 25, 2018
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Erotic, MC, Romantic Suspense

AVAILABLE NOW!

SYNOPSIS:

Linc
A man who can’t visualize his future will always revert to his past.
To where he came from and all the ways he failed.
The murder and mayhem that changed his life and darkened his soul.
The legacy of who he is will burn through his veins and ominously guide him to hell.
A place where he pays not only for his sins but the sins of his father as well.
A hustler by nature, a loner by choice, I am the spawn of Satan.
I am Lincoln Brandt and I am the son of Cain.

Kelly
Reckless and rebellious, I’ve spent most of my life running away from one mistake only to chase another.
At the end of my rope with nowhere left to turn, I’m about to make the biggest one of all.
Face to face with the bastard who broke me, I lay it all on the line for him.
My heart and my life.
Heaven is overrated and the ride to Hell doesn’t have to be lonely.
The stakes are high.
The risk great.
It’s do or die.
Together we’ll ride.
Forever we’ll burn.

EXCERPT

I meant to say the words as a warning to her body knowing the moment I drove my dick into her sweet pussy, I would never be the same. There is something about Kelly, something that makes me lose any sort of common sense. The girl is a pro at smashing down my walls, making me believe I’m worthy of all the things Sally stole from me the day he taught me I wasn’t invincible. The day I learned I was destined to be alone.
Staring into her eyes, having her spread before me ready and willing to give me everything I craved, the warning took on a different meaning.
I could break her.
Ruin her.
My cock heavy, begging my mind to shut down, I pause between her legs.
“I can take it,” she murmurs, sliding her hands down my back. Squeezing my ass, she lifts her hips.
If anyone can take the wrath of me, I want to believe it’s her. I want to trust Kelly’s resilience is a match for the doom I carry wherever I go. I want to feed off her strength and let go of the pain that weighs me. The nightmare that haunts me.
I want to bury myself so deep there is no way out.
My hips plunge forward and my cock pushes through her wet folds. Eyes wide, lips part, she gasps at the intrusion. Pausing, I reign myself in and feed her my length slowly. She stretches for me, pulling me in and I bend my head to take her nipple into my mouth when the sound of someone’s fist pounding on my door forces me to pause.
“Shit,” I grunt, hanging my head miserably. Unable to stop myself, I slide another inch deeper and a guttural moan passes her lips encouraging me to fill her. To fuck her until she can’t breathe. Until she can’t fucking walk. Until the motherfucker on the other end of that door gets lost.
“More,” she pleads.
Not an hour ago she was worried someone was going to catch her naked in my room. Now, she’s hungry for it and fuck me, if that don’t make me want her more.
Burying my face in her neck, I push deeper.
“Fuck, I want to stay inside you forever,” I growl against her throat.
The fist slams against the door again.
Fuck you.
“Open the fucking door, Linc,” Wolf bellows from the other side.
At the sound of his voice, I pull out of his niece knowing my cock is about to be severed if he catches us. To make matters worse, Kelly jolts upright and stares at the door like a deer caught in headlights. Scrambling to get off the bed, I snap my fingers breaking her trance.
“Get up,” I hiss.
“He’s going to kill you,” she says, turning to me.
“Thanks babe,” I mock, grabbing a pair of sweats.
“You better be dead in there,” Wolf growls.
“Give me a minute,” I shout. Shoving my swollen dick into the waistband of my sweatpants, I pull a t-shirt from the drawer. Kelly gets up and circles the bed in search of her clothes. Finding her shirt, she pulls it over her head.
“My panties.”
“We don’t got time to solve the case of the missing fucking thong. Go hide in the bathroom,” I order, gritting my teeth. Narrowing her eyes in anger, she flips me the bird.
“What if he goes in the bathroom? This ain’t exactly the Ritz.”
“The closet,” I hiss.
“I’m going to kill you,” she sneers.
“You’re not going to have the chance.”
Rolling her eyes, she pulls the closet door open and steps inside. Swiping my hand down my face, I get a whiff of her scent and realize not only do I smell like pussy but, the entire fucking room smells like sex.
“Three seconds before I break the fucking door down,” he growls.
Closing my hand around the knob, I slide the deadbolt and greet the beast.
“Jesus, man, impatient much?”
Narrowing his eyes into tiny slits, he looks me up and down.
“That anyway to greet the man who saved your fucking hide?” he questions. Placing his large paw against the door, he pushes it open wide and enters my room. “What took you so long?”
Shrugging a shoulder impassively, I reach around and cup the back of my neck.
“I was sleeping,” I lie.
His eyes dart to my bed and the rumpled sheets.
“It smells like pussy in here,” he smirks. “Looks like you’ve decided to live it up after all.”
Without thinking, I flinch at his words. If he only knew he was talkin’ about his niece.
“Where is she?”
Startled, I look at him.
“Where’s who?”
“The chick you fucked,” he replies.
“Oh,” I say, relaxing my shoulders. “You know how it is…in and out.”
Seemingly happy with that response, he drapes an arm around my shoulders.
“Thatta’ boy,” he croons proudly. “Spoken like a true biker.”
“Well, it was bound to rub off on me,” I reply, diverting my eyes to the closet. “You just get in?”
“Yeah,” he replies, dropping his arm from my shoulder. “Rolling down the East Coast on club business. Figured I’d give my pipes a rest and check on how everything is going down here.”
“I’ll be happy to catch you up to speed,” I tell him.
I’d be a hell of a lot happier doing it far away from this room.
“Good, I’m fucking starving,” he says, glancing at the leather watch on his wrist. “Kelly still wasting her days sleeping until noon?”
My eyes wander back to the closet.
“Noon is early for her,” I answer.
“Alright, I’ll catch up with her after you take me for breakfast,” he says, pulling my attention back to him.
“Sure, there’s a Denny’s down the road.”
Sweat beads across my forehead as I turn to grab my cut and boots. Not bothering to put them on, I jerk my chin toward the open door.
“Fuck that, I want steak and eggs,” he taunts. “And, you’re treating.”
Little does he know, I’d rob a cow to get him the fuck out of here.

Sonja's Review

Thinking of how to start this review was no easy task. I struggled with what to say and while I can usually dive right in after I’m done with a book, I couldn’t with Loner. No words seemed right, but maybe that’s just because that’s how I feel about this story. Like no matter how I describe it and how it made me feel, no words could adequately do it justice — because they can’t. Loner was just everything and the best book in and the best way to end the Nomad series.

And since this has already been unconventional, I’ll continue with that by talking about both Linc and Kelly now. I loved them both together and as individuals so much. They are so alike and perfect for each other. Kelly is so strong, fiery, and wild and Linc just absorbs all of Kelly’s personality and gives it back. Kelly and Linc will break your heart and steal it and if Janine Infante Bosco’s very own Bonnie and Clyde couple hadn’t come in the form of Deuce and Ally, Kelly and Linc would without a doubt be my favorite — they are amazing.

It’s bittersweet writing this Loner review because it means saying goodbye to these incredible Nomads and their extraordinary women. Ms. Bosco pulled out the big guns and all the stops for this one. Loner was full of twists and turns and heartbreak and heartache, but it was also full of happy, heart melting, passionate times. It was beautiful and epic and outstanding and I’m sad-glad to see it end — it was just full of so much heart, love, and — Property of Parrish.

Maybe I’m the one who’s love broken.

Sonja's Review

Whoo! Was that ever a ride or what?! I love reading Ms. Hollyfield, so I’m always up for one of her books and I always know to expect a good one with funny moments, but those expectations never could have prepared me for Love Broken. It was so raw and full of emotion — it was just wow. It was an amazing read and while it wasn’t easy to love all the time, I did love it.

And just like the story, Katie wasn’t easy to love all the time either. I loved her when I first met her, she was so real and just seemed so normal in the best way. Katie’s down-to-earth, and she likes simple things, she’s not showy or into fancy schmancy stuff. Katie is far from perfect though, she has insecurities, doubts, and fears. She’s not strong every moment and there were times when I wasn’t sure if liked her anymore let alone loved her. I never considered giving up on her though and I’m glad I didn’t because though it took awhile, Katie figured things out and I understood her better after that and I do still love her for all of her parts whether they’re broken or not.

The one aspect of this book that wasn’t at all hard to love was Chase. He’s fun and sweet and just the best guy ever. He’s incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. Chase never stops fighting for Katie and he never gives up on her. He’s a heart melting, swoon worthy, wonderful hero and I know he’ll steal your heart like he did mine.

Love Broken drove me a little crazy, it broke my heart and made it ache. It brought tears to my eyes and was difficult to read sometimes. It’s not all heartbreak and gloom though. It made me laugh and smile and melt a lot too. It was beautiful and deep and full of so much and so many kinds of love. Love Broken truly is one of Ms. Hollyfield’s best books yet!

Love Broken is a standalone, it’s told only from Katie’s POV, and she and Chase do get their hard-fought for happily-ever-after.

Excerpt:

“Let me see your wings.”
A smear of pink brightened his cheeks. “Memitim don’t have wings,” he said, which sounded like a convenient excuse. “Not real ones. But I have something similar.”
Before she could ask what he meant, a pair of misty, smoke-colored wings punched into the air behind him. “These allow me to move invisibly when I need to.”
Her mouth went dry with shock. He really was an angel. She was standing in the presence of a being she hadn’t thought was real. Heck, she had always been *this close* to being an atheist, despite the existence of demons which, some would say, proved the existence of God.
 “Can I touch them?”
“You can try.” He shifted, allowing her access. “But your hand will pass through them. They’re made of shadow.”
She reached out, expecting to feel empty air, but instead her fingers felt...something. Something electric. He went taut as she stroked the apex of one of his ghostly wings.
“I can sense your touch,” he breathed. “You can...feel them?”
“Yes,” she said, in absolute awe that she was in contact with a real, Heavenly being.
Well, an earthbound Heavenly being, anyway. “They feel like warm water with an electrical current running through it.”
Curious, she concentrated on absorbing some of his energy through her palm, but nothing happened. She dropped her gaze to his perfect ass. Maybe if she touched a more solid part of his body...
“I don’t understand.” He stepped away, his expression one of genuine confusion.
“No one has ever been able to touch them. This is the first time I’ve gotten any sensation from them at all.”
Huh. Weird. “What did it feel like?”
“Like...a caress. Like they were real wings and they were connected to my—” He broke off and gave her a cheeky grin. “Never mind.”
Too late. Her gaze slid downward, and she drew an appreciative breath at the impressive bulge behind the fly of his jeans.

Sonja's Review

I've loved all of the Demonica novellas I’ve read, so I couldn’t wait to read Hawkyn! It was even better than I was expecting and I absolutely loved it. Hawkyn was beyond excellent and I can’t wait for whatever Demonica book comes next!

It wasn’t hard at all to love Aurora — in fact, I loved her from the very beginning. She’s strong, spunky, and full of life and energy. Aurora is kind, level-headed, and understanding. She’s just sweet and wonderful and I loved getting to know her.

Hawkyn isn’t hard to love either. He is and takes his job seriously, but he’s also a bit of a rebel and he definitely has his own mind. He is determined, driven, and he wants to man's a difference. Hawkyn has such a good heart and he’s such a good man — it’s impossible not to fall for him.

I had the best time reading Hawkyn. It was so interesting and fascinating to visit this particular Demonica World. I feel like I learn new things every time I pick up one of them and it always makes for an exciting adventure and leaves me eager to discover more from both the old and future books. Hawkyn was fantastic and full of passion, action, and so much more — I just loved, loved, loved it!

Hawkyn can be read as a standalone, it’s told from multiple points of view, and Hawkyn and Aurora do get their happily ever after.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW: Candy Coated Chaos by Charity B.

Candy Coated Chaos
Sweet Treats Trilogy
by Charity B.
Publication Date: February 15, 2018
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

AVAILABLE NOW!

SYNOPSIS:

Alexander
Being with Tavin is like eating those candies that start out sweet and then turn so sour, your eyes water. When she’s happy, her radiance is stunning, but her glow is dimmed by her dark secrets. I knew from the moment I laid eyes on her, sucking on that lollipop, that there was something unique about her. I was right in more ways than one, and while I don’t know the extent of suffering that her life entails, I’ll do whatever I need to, to convince her she can trust me. I just need to hang on to her long enough to do that.

Tavin
When he wraps his arms around me, and his warmth makes me feel safe, it’s easy to pretend that this is real. I knew going out with him was a bad idea, I just never imagined it would go this far. It was only supposed to be one night. One night to feel like a normal girl. I didn’t plan for this and now, every day that passes puts us deeper in danger. All I can do is make the most of every moment with him, so when the time comes for this to end, then at least we’ll be left with beautiful memories.

Trigger Warning: This novel contains drug use, explicit sexual content, violence, and sensitive subject matter which may be triggering for some readers.

EXCERPT

He hovers over me, his blond hair soft beneath my fingers as I brush it away from his face. His strong and gorgeous face. I touch his cheeks so softly I wonder if he feels it.
“Can’t we just enjoy this? The right now? I don’t want to think about anything past tonight.”
His eyebrows narrow as his jaw ticks and it’s like he thinks if he looks into my eyes deep enough, he’ll get the answers he thinks he wants.
“That’s what I’m talking about. Whenever you say stuff like that it feels like every moment with you could be my last. You have this way about you, as if you see something the rest of the world can’t. Sometimes you feel almost… magical.” He presses his forehead against mine and laces our fingers together before pulling our hands above our heads. “Please don’t disappear,” he whispers against my lips.

Sonja's Review

The cover for Candy Coated Chaos immediately grabbed my attention, but it wasn’t until I saw a post about it in one of my social media groups that I decided to give it a shot. I’m glad that I saw that post and that I took a chance on it because I really liked Candy Coated Chaos. It was unconventional and a little weird at times, but I enjoyed that — it was an excellent read.

Much like the story is unconventional and a bit weird, so is Tavin — she’s definitely a one-of-a-kind heroine. She has her somewhat frustrating moments, but I could never really be angry at her for long or blame her for that. I don’t want to spoil anything about Tavin though, so I will just say give her a chance because she deserves it and while she certainly has flaws, she’s a little bit of wonderful.

It wasn’t hard at all to love Alexander — he’s such a great hero. He has his fair share of not-so-good times too, but he has a good, big heart and he truly cares about Tavin. He’s sweet, thoughtful, protective, supportive and he wants what’s best for her. Alex is fun and serious and warm — he’s just awesome.

Candy Coated Chaos was unique and frustrating and full of mystery and secrets that had my mind going around in circles. It kept me on my toes and thinking and guessing and wondering what we were going to find out next. It made my heart ache and pound and made me smile and laugh a lot too. I did enjoy reading this book and I will without a doubt read the whole trilogy!

Candy Coated Chaos is the first book in the Sweet Treats trilogy, it’s told from Alex and Tavin’s POV, and I can’t wait to read book two!
