***These books were designed so you can read them out of order. However, they each interconnect and would be best enjoyed by reading them all!***
After I read Blackstone, I couldn’t wait to read Pearson! I knew he was going to be challenging not only from meeting him in the first book, but because we were warned. I didn’t care about that though, I love loving the anti-hero who’s bad and just a little bit mad and Eric Pearson completely fit that bill. I loved the man and his story — and boy, oh boy, what a story it was!
You have Rowan who’s so sweet and innocent while at the same time not very sweet and innocent after all. She’s a sensitive girl and she lives to please Eric and while there would have been more of a fight with me, Rowan does have some fight within in her. Eric is really lucky to have his girl, she’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and it’s impossible not to love her.
And Eric — just be prepared for him. He’s not as much of a jerk as I was expecting although he definitively is one and has not-so-good moments. That man is one crazy, outrageous mofo though, like for real. I can’t even tell you how much he embarrassed me and made my hide my face — he’s totally mad. However, I didn’t really mind all that and Eric does have times when he’s very sweet and loving and will melt your heart. I truly did love Eric, so prepare and give him a chance because he’s worth it.
Reading Pearson was like when you’re outside in the middle of a powerful wind and it’s blowing so hard that it whips your hair behind you, it about forces you to take a step back, you have to close your eyes against the onslaught, and it takes your breath away. It’s intense and fierce and a bit overwhelming, but it gets your heart pounding and your blood thrumming, so you can’t help but love the feeling of the wind tearing at you and making you feel alive. That’s how Pearson made me feel, it was crazy and wild and uncomfortable to read at times, but that’s what I loved the most about it — it was just wonderful!
Pearson is the third book in the Four Fathers series, but it is a standalone, so you can read in whatever order you like. It’s told from Eric and Rowan’s POV and they do get a happy ending.
