RELEASE DAY BLITZ REVIEW: Clam Jam by RC Boldt

rc-boldt

Synopsis

“Clam Jam”

Definition: the female equivalent of a cock block.

Example: You’re chatting with a guy you’re interested in and your friend comes along and lays claim to him.

Maggie

That’s my life—except it’s worse. My friend who keeps “jamming” me is my gay roommate and if that isn’t a W.T.F. moment, I’m not sure what is.

Fact: He went home with three—yes, three—of the guys I had been so sure were into me.

Fact: He’s really pissing me off. I mean, hello? I’m trying to get back in the saddle, but I’ll never manage to get a boyfriend before the age of fifty if he keeps this up.

Fact: Secretly, I wonder what it would be like if he weren’t gay. Why do all the hot, sweet, tender-hearted guys have to be gay?

Fact: My gay-dar needs a serious tune-up.

Ry

The day I interviewed for the room to rent, everything changed. I knew I had met “the girl”, except there was one small problem: she didn’t want anything to do with men. I recognized a top-notch force field when I saw one. She’d been burned badly and didn’t want to deal with a heterosexual guy as a roommate. I could’ve turned around and found another place to live, but I wanted to live there—with her.

So I had to go “undercover”.

Fact: I’m in love with my roommate.

Fact: I’m a likely candidate for carpal tunnel surgery since all the action I’ve had for the past year has been my hand.

Fact: She’s going to hate me if I come clean now.

Fact: I’m not giving up. Which means, I’ll just have to continue to run defense until I figure out a way to get Maggie to see the “real” me.

The me that loves her.

The me that would never do her wrong.

Until then, I’ll keep running off every guy who shows any interest.

Until then, I’ll continue to Clam Jam.

Sonja's Review

The cover was the first thing that drew my interest to Clam Jam, but I didn't check it out right away because I've been cutting back on my blog books and also the fact that covers have gotten me before and haven't always ended leaving me with  a good experience. I was scrolling along in an email, though, and I saw it again, but this time I saw a bit of the synopsis too and it immediately grabbed me! It was funny and intriguing and oh, I just could NOT wait read it! I checked my kindle a million times to see if it showed up and of course when it did, me being the freak that I am, I waited until the evening to read it. I hoped going into Clam Jam that it was going to be as good as I was expecting and it was so much better!

Oh, Mags, you got to love the girl! She's funny and sweet and kind and genuine. She's so considerate, caring, and giving - especially with Ry. Mags is always there for him, she believes in him and trusts him and she'd do anything for him. Mags has a heart of gold and I loved her for that and a whole lot more!

And Ry is d*mn near perfect! He's sweet and thoughtful and for the most part always says or does the right thing to make everything better. Mags is his whole world and there's not a thing that she asked him to do that he wouldn't do for her. I wish the man would have come clean sooner, but everyone has their flaws, this was just his. I completely loved Ry though, he's wonderful and I wouldn't change a thing about him!

Clam Jam was the perfect book to end the year and also start the new year at the same time! It was so funny and entertaining and made me laugh and smile a lot, but it wasn't just all fun and games though. It made my heart hurt, it frustrated me and made my want to yell and shake some sense into some people, and it made me face palm and shake my head too. I'm not going to lie, it was hard to read sometimes, but the positives far outweigh the negatives and it was truly all worth it in the end. Clam Jam was specmazing (and yes, I know that's not a word but I'm making it up - it's spectacular and amazing, just in case you missed it and this will totally made sense when you read this book, which you absolutely, most definitely should do!) and I loved, loved, LOVED IT!

Clam Jam is a standalone, it's told from Ry and Mags' POV, and their happy ending will have you grinning like a fool!
