BLOG TOUR REVIEW: Ven by K. Webster and Ker Dukey

Ven
by K. Webster & Ker Dukey
Publication Date: June 29, 2018
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Dark, Mafia, Romance

Read for FREE in KindleUnlimited: Amazon US | Amazon UK | Amazon CA | Amazon AU

Synopsis:
The Vetrov name comes with expectation.
My role in this world is simple: do as Father asks and live my life how he planned it.

My future is already written: run the empire.
Old Values. Old Rule. Old Money.
Until her.

Everything I do lacks purpose.
Everything I do is empty.
Women. Money. Power. It meant nothing.

Until her.

When the Volkov rose showed up at my home a disgraced package, hand-delivered by a Vasiliev prince, I began paving my own path.
I vowed to make her bloom once more.

She consumed me.
Her. Her. Her.

But you can’t love a rose and expect not to be damaged by her thorns.
She cut me too deep.
And I bled out.
My soul fled.
All that’s left is a cold, calculating monster.

I am Veniamin.
Volcanic. Victorious. Valiant. Vetrov.
When you enter my world to play games, prepare to lose.
In the end, I always find the thorn in my side, and I pluck it right out.

Sonja's Review

OMG, Ker Dukey and K. Webster — I did not see that coming! That ending just has me chomping at the bit to read the next book in The V Games! But before we can even think about that, we should talk about Ven first and let me just say going in that I thought it was going to be hard to top the amazingness that was Vlad. loved that first book, I had a serious hero hangover once I finished and I didn’t think any character could make me love him more than Vlad, but Ven sure gave the book and the man a run for their money. I think I might still love Vlad a little more, but this author duo definitely upped their game and created gold with Ven.

I knew going in that Diana was going to be a boss and boy, did she prove me right! Diana is fierce, strong, and formidable. She’s so cunning and smart that no one she’s plotting against has a chance. There’s a lot of hardness to Diana, but there’s softness to her too and there are times when my heart ached for her. I didn’t always agree with Diana, but I did love this special heroine.

I liked Ven in the first book and I didn’t believe he ever really stood a chance against Vlad. I knew that I was going to love Ven, but more than Vlad — no way. And then I started reading and Ven was just so sweet that I can remember the exact moment he stole my heart. I had no control, I totally fell for him. I loved his sweetness, softness, and devotion to Diana, but I also loved his dark side too. Ven is amazing and Diana and I never stood a chance and you won’t either.

Ven, like the book before it, captured my attention and didn’t want to let me go. It was sweet and beautiful and dark and twisted. It broke my heart, angered me, shocked me, and melted me. It was full of passion with a little naughtiness thrown in. Ven was just so much and I absolutely loved it!

Ven is the second book in The V Games series and it should be read in order. It’s told from Ven and Diana’s POV, they are together in the end and what a wild ending it is!

About Ker Dukey

My books all tend to be darker romance, edge of you seat, angst filled reads. My advice to my readers when starting one of my titles…prepare for the unexpected. I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters growing up. My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light; some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling. When I’m not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.
