RELEASE DAY BLITZ REVIEW: Flow by Amity Cross

Title: Flow
Series: The Beat and the Pulse #6
Author: Amity Cross
Genre: Fighter Romance Stand Alone
Release Date: June 2, 2016

Hamish “Goblin” McBride is a formidable cage fighter with a heart of solid gold…until the woman of his dreams smashes it to pieces. The only things he has to soften the blow are his fists and the bottom of a whisky bottle. He's got more than his fair share of problems and being heartbroken wasn't part of the plan. Enter Lori, the mysterious rock chick who works behind the bar at The Underground, the illegal cage fighting league that's Hamish's home away from home. With a boatload of her own problems, starting something with Hamish might just be more trouble than it's worth… Or they might just be made for one another after all.

“The story lines are heartbreaking and brilliant with each character fighting their own battles outside the ring.” - Ramblings from Beneath the Sheets
“All in all a great book and one eager to please fighter fans!” - Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
“From the first word to the last word you will be hooked.” - Hooked on Books

Amity Cross isn’t her real name. That’s no secret.
She is the author of wicked stories about rock stars looking for redemption, gritty romances featuring MMA fighters and dark tales of forbidden romance. She loves to write about screwed up relationships and kick ass female leads that don’t take s**t lying down.
Amity lives in a leafy country town near Melbourne, Australia and can be found chained to her desk, held at ransom by her characters.
Don’t send help. She likes it.

As soon as I saw that Flow was Hamish's story, I couldn't wait to read it! I've been wanting to read his for as long as I can remember and oh my GOSH, it did NOT disappoint. It was utterly, utterly amazing and I wholeheartedly loved, loved, LOVED it!!

I loved Lori right from the get-go - she's funny and kind of like sarcastically sassy and she doesn't take any crap from anyone. She's a tough cookie to be sure, but she's actually really sweet, calm, and gentle too. There's just something soothing about where you feel like you could tell her anything and she would listen, not judge you, and give you advice. Lori is strong, courageous, patient, and understanding - she's absolutely wonderful and I completely loved her!

I've always had a thing for the hot, sexy Irishman fighter and once I got into his head - I totally fell for him! He definitely has his a*shole moments and times where you want to shake him, but he's really a great guy. Hamish is protective and so loyal and devoted to who he considers family. We do hit a few speed bumps with him, but he is excellent and I have no doubts that you'll for Hamish's just like Lori and I did!

So I've been bad and haven't been reading this series in order. I fell in love with Beat and Pulse and wasn't able to pick it up again until Steel. I loved Steel but I felt like a little bit of that magic from the first two books wasn't there completely and I was a touch worried that Flow would be the same - but I shouldn't have worried because this book was pure magic. It was beautiful, heartbreaking, amusing, and entertaining. It completely sucked me in and I could hardly ever tear myself away from reading. It was an incredible book and I'm excited for the next story in the series!

Flow is a standalone told from Hamish and Lori's POV and they're happy ending will make you good sigh and warm your heart!

This was hands down a BEST BOOK OF 2016 for me! It was a total 5 star read that I will recommend to anyone who loves a great "friends to lovers", "older brother's best friend" or "sports" romance. - J. Hodges

I loved how the author incorporated hockey and music together.. how she gave us a play by play of the games or the music process and how impeccable she was with both subjects.. and that ending I was just seriously blown away! - Logan Hr

This is a book that is so good you have to keep going, and you will find yourself completely consumed with Brantley. OH he’s so dreamy and swoon worthy. B stole my heart and I am asking him to never return it. ~ Nikki for Saints and Sinners Book Blog

Lia's Review

Best friend's little sister/jock romance, sign me up! Rhonda James, you have a new fan! Jersey Girl was sweet, funny and holy H-E-double-hockey-sticks, it was hot!

This was my first experience reading this author and having finished this book it's easy to see why it's flying up the Sports Romance charts on Amazon. It was a great, well-rounded romance with just a little bit of everything I love when I read a book. The writing style flows so well and keeps you engaged and invested in the characters and their burgeoning romance.

I'm hoping this is going to be the beginning of a series because there are a few of B's hockey buds I'd love to know more about. She shoots, she scores! Great book, Rhonda.

Excerpt:
Why shouldn’t she enjoy the pleasures that he offered her? There was no moral code to be obeyed now. They’d abandoned that, there was only two grown people indulging their passion for one another.

Passion, she thought, yes, their passion for one another. She moved faster, an invisible thread drawing her in the wake of his footsteps.

She recalled the feeling of his body against hers, the exquisite sensations he’d nurtured and set free inside her. She wanted to know them again. Her footsteps quickened as she climbed the stairs. She glanced behind her toward the echoing music and faint voices still coming from the ballroom and anterooms.

When she reached her bedchamber she paused outside the heavy mahogany paneled door, and pushed her hair back. There was no one about in the gloom of the passage. She opened the door quietly, quickly moving inside and closing it behind her. She leaned against it, as if to close out the world.

A small lantern glowed by the bedside.

Rivers stood there, his tall lean frame half cast in shadows, his eyes on her. She wanted him. The power of her desire strengthened her determination. She left the door and walked to him.

He smiled, indolently. “You managed to wait…” He flicked open his pocket watch. “…about two and a half minutes. How eager you are to reach your bed.” His tone was teasing.

“I won’t deny it.” Her erratic heartbeat made her bold.

He smiled at her remark, and she arched her eyebrow. “And you, sir, you are here – in my private room, when by rights I should send you on your way.”

She was gratified to witness a flicker of doubt in his eyes. No, she’d no intention of sending him away and perhaps couldn’t, so strong was her need, but his arrogance had to be tempered before she let him take control of her body once more.

He touched her hair, running his hand down its shimmering length, the simple gesture somehow claiming her. “I would respect your decision. But you wouldn’t send me away, now, would you?”

“I should.” She braved herself. “However I find myself curious regarding your statement about pleasuring me until dawn.”

He looked deep into her eyes.

“Is it possible?” she queried, with as much dignity as she could muster.

His eyes shone, his mouth curling. “Believe me, I’m going to do my damndest to find out.”

His mouth descended to hers. He leaned over her, his hands crushing her body to his. Her lips parted. She caressed his neck and slid one hand down inside the open jacket of his uniform.

She tilted her head back, limbs heavy with desire, fingers entwined in his hair. “I want you, Rivers, and I cannot think of a better way to bring in the New Year than discovering more about this passion…” Her voice faltered. “…that we seem to share.”

By the age of eleven Juliette's Great Aunt Dorothy had introduced her to romance, including many delicious historical romances. Her love of the genre became deeply ingrained from that moment on. Lydia's Review

One of the things I love about historicals is sassy, stubborn women that stand out in their time. Our heroine definitely falls under that category.

Raised by her father she is very much a tomboy and when her father dies she decides to go overseas to be with her aunt. But good lord, when her aunt sends our hunk of a hero to escort her to the US, the sparks fly. I just loved how spunky and sneaky the heroine was... she did everything she could to exasperate the hero.

I laughed in several scenes throughout the story. It was well written, engaging, and a page turner. The tall, dark, and handsome hero was just as stubborn as her and took his job seriously. He wasn't letting her get away from him no matter how hard she tried.

I can't wait for more books from this author!

Sonja's Review

As soon as I found out that Ms. Probst's The Billionaire Builders series had anything to do with the Property Brothers, I had to read it! I absolutely love Drew and Jonathan and I knew if these Pierce brothers were anything like the Scott brothers, I would love them too and I was not wrong. I loved the brothers, I loved Caleb - I just loved Everywhere and Every Way period!

I do not think that Ms. Probst could have written a better heroine than our Morgan right here! She is my kind of woman through and through. She's strong, independent, and fierce. Morgan isn't easily intimidated, but if she is, she doesn't show it - she knows how to hold her own and doesn't take any guff from anyone - she's quite a force to be reckoned with. There just wasn't anything that I didn't love about Morgan - her strength, passion, and drive are qualities to respect and admire, but her pure heart, sweetness, and patience are truly what makes her amazing!

If Morgan is my kind of heroine, than Caleb is my kind of hero too. He is all alpha, raw passion, and total, primal caveman - he knows what he wants and he goes after it  with an intensity and focus that left me swooning. There's no doubt that he's a real, rugged man's man but he can also be so sweet, sensitive, and thoughtful that I was a complete and utter goner for him! Morgan and I never stood a chance against Caleb Pierce and I know you won't either!

Everywhere and Every Way is my first Jennifer Probst book, but I can promise you that it will not be the last! It made my heart ache and my eyes and nose sting, it made me laugh and giggle, it delighted me, and it sucked me in completely and I fell in love with the story and its characters. It was a truly remarkable read that delivered everything I love in my books - I just wholeheartedly loved this beautiful, breathtaking, heart-racing tale and I can't wait for the next one in this sexy brother series!

Everywhere and Every Way is the first book in The Billionaire Builders series, it's told from Caleb and Morgan's POV, and they get a happy ending that will warm your heart, melt it, and make you grin like a fool!
