While this is only the second book of Ms. Daiko's that I've read so far, one of things that I love about her writing is the strong heroines she gives us, like Theodora. Theo is very strong, smart, and confident, but she also has a soft, sweet, gentle side to her. She does doubt herself sometimes, but ultimately she doesn't let that stop her from exploring with and surrendering to Justinian. Theodora is a loyal, wonderful heroine and I loved her!
And Justinian was a great hero! You never doubt how much he wants, cares, and comes to love Theodora. He fights for her, respects her, and completely believes in her. He's supportive, patient, understanding, thoughtful, sweet, and of course, dominant. I just loved everything about Justinian - he's amazing!
The Submission of Theodora is all about surrendering and letting go and the freedom and pleasure that comes with doing that. It's also about trust and faith and love. There are a lot of sexy moments in this book, but there are also beautiful, heart-melting ones as well. It is an excellent, fast read and I'm excited for whatever Ms. Daiko has planned next!
The Submission of Theodora is a standalone, it's told from Justinian and Theodora's POV, and they do get their HEA.
