They say it takes 21 days to form a habit.
They lie.
For 21 days she held on.
But on Day 22, she would have given anything for the sweet slumber of death.
Because on Day 22, she realizes that her only way out means certain death for one of the two men she loves.
A haunting tale of passion, loss, and redemption, The Paper Swan is a darkly intense yet heartwarming love story, textured with grit, intrigue, and suspense. Please note: This is NOT a love triangle.
A full-length, standalone novel, intended for mature audiences due to violence, sex and language. Subject matter may be disturbing for some readers.
Leylah Attar writes stories about love - shaken, stirred and served with a twist. When she's not writing, she can be found pursuing her other passions: photography, food, family and travel. Sometimes she disappears into the black hole of the internet, but can usually be enticed out with chocolate.

Lia's Review
Whoa. Just, whoa. The ride The Paper Swan just took me on was un-freaking-believable! As I turned the last page and mulled over what I had just read, I had a deep sense of satisfaction and yet, I also felt loss. Loss because I really didn't want this story to end. I requested this book mainly because of its beautiful cover and the teasers I saw floating around Facebook. This isn't my typical read, it had a bit of a dark edge, some blurred lines, parts that pushed me and made me uncomfortable. But it was so worth it.
This is one of those stories that plays out in your mind like a movie. The writing so seamless and at times poetic. It pulls you in and latches on to you, it becomes an obsession to finish and find out just where the author is driving this story. Leylah, you've given me a book hangover of epic proportions. It's been quite a while since a book has put me in such a state. Buy it, immerse yourself in its pages, and fall in love with The Paper Swan just like I did. If any book deserves a standing ovation, it's this one.
