As soon as I saw that Turn of the Moon was written by L.P. Dover, I wanted to read it - and the fact that it was paranormal only made me want to read it more! I knew that if this book and its characters were anything like Ms. Dover's Gloves Off series, which I completely love, I would love this as well. And I was not wrong - I wholeheartedly LOVED Turn of the Moon - it was just amazing!!
Bailey is an awesome heroine! She's everything you would expect an alpha female wolf to be: fierce, strong, loyal, and a complete and utter bada*s! She's a fighter, a survivor, and she's definitely not the type to be pushed around. There's no question that Bailey is tough, but she's also soft with a big heart. She can be sweet and fun and I totally loved her!!
Ryker is one sexy man-wolf! He's so protective, sweet, and possessive and there's no denying that he loves Bailey. He's just the best alpha - he's accepting, he'll always have your back and fight for you, and he has such a good heart. Ryker is wonderful and I couldn't love him more than I already do!
Turn of the Moon was truly an excellent first book not only for this series, but also for Ms. Dover's first foray into the paranormal genre. She completely nailed it! It was a compelling, intriguing read with mystery, danger, and secrets. It made my heart ache, made me furious, made me laugh, kept me on the edge of my seat and gave me the oooooh-good-but-also-a-little-freaky-kind of chills. I never wanted to stop reading, but I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. It was spectastic, I CANNOT wait for the next book, and as my Grams would say: "I loved it to the Moon and back!"
Turn of the Moon is a standalone, it's told from Ryker and Bailey's POV, and I loved their HEA ending!
