Ms. Bentley is one of my faves, so when the time came to decide if I wanted to read Under the Gun, there was no question in my mind that I did! I knew that I would love it and that it would be excellent and I was not wrong. It was just so wonderful and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Quinn is absolutely awesome! She's strong, sassy, stubborn, and feisty. She's not afraid to challenge Gunner or try to put him in his place or tell him how things are going to go - granted, it doesn't always work, but it's amusing to watch. I just loved everything about Quinn from her stubbornness to how she was around Gunner - it was great!
And Gunner, how could I not love him?! He's my kind of hero with all his alpha, protective, possessiveness that he has going on. He's sexy and playful and teasing and a little bit of a jerk sometimes, but he's a good guy. Gunner totally stole my heart and I have no doubts that he will do the same to you!
Under the Gun was full of mystery, passion, humor, and a little heartache. It made me heart squeeze and made my eyes water at times, but it gave me a few good loud laughs too. Although I had one up on Ms. Bentley with the mystery, I will admit that she definitely pulled one over on me on the other end. It was utterly fantastic and I can't wait for more of the CEP series try to come or to get caught up on the first two books!
Under the Gun can be read as a standalone, it's told from Gunner and Quinn's POV, and they do get their happily-ever-after!
