Well, this was different... I read this series out of order, not on purpose though.
We have Evan, she is a b*tch of the top order... whatever or whoever she wants, she takes. She's all about making the money, whether it be representing criminals or twisting things her way. She is always in control. Until Lincoln comes along and takes that control from her.
And boy, is it a battle of wills. Slowly he starts to change her and the sex is smoking hot! She comes to see that he matters more than the money or power. Throw in some danger and an HEA and you have one awesome read!

Washington... "Hardass" is what all his associates call him, and they were right. He comes across as a grade A jerk so many times in the first half of the book I wanted to throw a blunt object at him.
Then there is Caroline... in real life that girl would so be my bestie. She was quirky and funny and smart as a whip, plus she drove Wash crazy. She has had a crush on Wash since she was in law school and watched him in court for the first time.
Wash doesn't date his employees... he created that rule for his firm and does not cross that line. Until he is paired up on the serial killer case with Caroline. The sparks between these two explode into some seriously steamy encounters. And I can honestly say I never saw the twist in the ending coming.
It was a wonderful ride with Caroline and Wash and I loved their story and their HEA!

I knew from the first few pages that I was gonna love this book!
The hero was a total a*s but he was funny and had a good heart. He was also a dirty talker... score! The heroine was sassy and put him in his place from the beginning and they kept me laughing all through the book.
The storyline was good... like hackers and murders and hot sex kind of good. I got nothing done because I didn't put this book down until the end. And that was only so I could go read the other books in this series! I never saw the twist in the story coming even though I had some suspicions. This was an excellent read with everything a reader could ask for in a book and it had an HEA... which always makes me happy.
