HawkeTourBanner
Title: Hawke (Cold Fury, Book #5)
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: March 15, 2016

Synopsis:
The New York Times bestselling hockey series featuring the Carolina Cold Fury continues as the team’s most notorious party animal gets blindsided by the one that got away.
Off the ice, elite defenseman Hawke Therrien enjoys his fair share of booze and good times. And why shouldn’t he? He’s worked his way up from the minor leagues and made himself a star. The only thing Hawke misses from that life is the pierced, tattooed free spirit who broke his heart without so much as an explanation. She’s almost unrecognizable when she walks back into his life seven years later—except for the look in her eyes that feels like a punch to the gut.
Vale Campbell isn’t the same girl she was at twenty. As crazy as she was about Hawke, her reckless behavior and out-of-control drinking were starting to scare her. She had to clean up her act, and that would never happen with Hawke around. Cutting him loose was the hardest thing Vale ever had to do—until now. Because she’s still crazy about Hawke. And if he could ever learn to forgive her, they just might have a future together.

Sonja's Review

Sawyer Bennett's Carolina Cold Fury Hockey series is fast becoming one of my favorites and I look forward to each new book! Hawke was no different - I was so, so excited to read it and I just couldn't wait to get started on it. It was just as amazing as the others and it comes as no surprise that I loved it!

Well, out of all the heroines in this series so far, Vale is definitely the one who tested me the most. Oh my gosh, that woman made me so frustrated and angry with her, I almost wanted to kill her or at the very least choke or smack some sense into her. She had me yelling, beating my fists on the table, clenching my teeth, and whisper yelling at times. I won't go into details because I don't want to give anything away and while I can't say that she's one of my favorites, she doesn't do anything really, really bad and even when she was being all grr-and-argh worthy, I still liked her. Vale is a great person with a great heart and I honestly wouldn't want anyone else for Hawke!

I might not always have been too crazy about Vale, but I absolutely loooooooved Hawke! The Hawke from the past broke my heart when you saw how heartbroken he was over Vale, but the first thing I thought about the man from seven years later was that he was a cocky sumnab*tch and with that plus the partying - I wasn't completely sure about him as hero, but it didn't take him long to worm his way into my heart or for me to realize that he's actually a pretty good guy. Hawke is funny and sweet, playful and thoughtful, and kind and caring. Don't get me wrong, he still has his jerk moments, his utterly stupid (which he admits) guy moments, and his possessive, protective ones (not that I mind that, wink wink) too. Hawke turned out to be much more than I expected, he's absolutely wonderful and truly a great hero!

Hawke will make your heart race and get your blood pumping. It's a tale of betrayal, secrets, heartache, lust, love, second chances and new beginnings. It will make your heart hurt, make you angry, make you laugh, and make you melt. It's fantastic, I very much loved and enjoyed it, and I can't wait to read the next book!

Hawke is a standalone, it's told from Vale and Hawke's POV, and they do get their HEA.

~ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars
