This is War, Baby
by K. Webster
Publication Date: February 29, 2016
Genres: Contemporary, Dark Romance
Synopsis:
My life had a plan. Until he invaded it and stole it all away. My captor took me and I became a pawn.
His strategy changed and he sent me away to WAR, because money is everything in this world.
In my WAR, though, I found peace.
I couldn’t help but find love where I least expected it, with a man who lived a battle every day of his life
…all inside his head.
But then my captor came back for me.
Yet, this time, battle lines had been drawn and I was protected.
So we thought.
Even though my WAR was raging,
my captor would fight to the death.
The good guys always win, right?
Not always.
All’s fair in love and WAR, right?
Not this time.
Warning: This is War, Baby is a dark romance. A really dark one. So dark you’re going to wish you had a flashlight to see yourself to the end and someone to hold your hand. Human trafficking, dubious consent, and strong sexual themes that could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. This story is NOT for everyone.

Sonja's Review
Wow - after that ending I don't know what to say but just wow. I'm not completely surprised at what happened but at the same time, I feel like I'm in shock and a little numb. I guess all I can say that This is War, Baby is one hell of a book and I truly loved it.
Just like This is War, Baby is one hell of a book, Baylee is one hell of heroine. Despite everything she that she has to go through, she's still strong and brave and fiery, in fact it has only made her more strong, brave, and fiery. There's no question that Baylee is one tough woman and I love, admire, and respect that about her, but what I loved the most is how good, kind, sweet, and compassionate she still is. Baylee is a remarkable heroine and I can't wait to see more of her!
And War - oh my gosh - that man completely and utterly stole my heart and made me his! He's absolutely adorkable and so sweet and thoughtful that he will have you melting, sighing, and swooning in no time. It's not hard to love War - I can't even imagine not loving him, he's just that great - but be prepared for him to break your heart and have it ache for him. War is so amazing and the perfect hero for Baylee!
This is War, Baby is dark, disturbing, and terrifying and it will make you shudder, shiver, and shake. It made me do that for sure and it made my heart ache and feel so heavy, it made my want to cry and sob and scream and yell and commit violence. It's definitely not easy to read and I was expecting that and the darkness, but what I wasn't really expecting and was pleasantly surprised by was how light it was. I actually laughed and smiled a lot reading this and I good sighed and melted too.
This is War, Baby is heartbreaking and horrifying, but also so beautiful and enchanting - it's just magnificent and I can't tell you how much I loved and enjoyed it!
This is War, Baby is the first book in the War & Peace series, it's told from multiple points of view and it does end in a cliffhanger.
