His fantasies will kill her.
By day, Lynn Broadmore leads a boring life as a mild-mannered bookkeeper, enduring one blind date after another. But by night, she's "Hush," webmistress extraordinaire, writing naughty stories for her adoring legion of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan fiction minions.
Now that there's a new guy working in the next cubicle, though, real life is getting interesting. All Jack has to do is smile, and her insides turn to goo. To her complete surprise, she might even stand a chance against the office bimbo.
Undercover FBI agent Jack Edwards is on the hunt for a serial killer who trolls the Internet for victims. The trail has led to Lynn's virtual doorstep, and he's ready to do whatever is necessary to bring the killer down—including using two secret identities to gain her trust. Things get complicated, however, as the goofy fan fiction writer gets under his skin and starts staining his brain—and his heart.
Distractions are something he can't afford right now…not if he's going to keep her from getting hurt in what she thinks is a safe, on-line hideaway. Because between the pixels lurks a murderer.
And he's chosen Hush, his fantasy girl, as his next target.

About Candice Gilmer
USA Today and NY Times bestselling author Candice Gilmer leads a dangerous double life as a mommy and a writer. In between boo-boo healing and fixing broken toys, she writes stories usually to the tune of children's television shows.
Growing up in the Midwest, Candice stays close to her family, especially the ones with basements when the tornadoes come around.
All in all, she stays very busy, but really, she wouldn't have it any other way.
Well, maybe a little less children's television.

Sonja's Review
Fantasy Girl's synopsis had me hooked from the very start, but even if it hadn't, the part about Lynn being a total Buffy the Vampire Slayer fangirl would have because I absolutely love that show - it's one of my favorites. I just couldn't wait to read this book and I was excited about everything from the suspense to the somewhat taboo relationship all the way to the humor. Fantasy Girl turned out to be such an excellent book and I truly loved it.
Oh, there are some times when Jack is just such a guy and you can't help but laugh, shake your head, and roll your eyes at him. Of course, while he does have those moments, there are so many great things about Jack too. He's kind, patient, sweet and thoughtful. The best thing about Jack, though, is how supportive of Lynn's fan fiction world. He doesn't ever to tell her to stop doing it or treat her like she's stupid for being so involved, sure he teases her every now and then, but it's a fun, playful teasing. Jack is a fantastic hero and he'll melt your heart.
Although the heroes are usually my favorite, Lynn completely stole the show this time. She's funny, silly, smart, and sassy. She kind of has that self-deprecating humor that I love so much. Lynn's a warm, genuine person that you just can't help but laugh, smile and have a good time when you're around her. She's so wonderful and I wholeheartedly loved her.
I liked Fantasy Girl pretty much as soon as I started reading it. I will admit that it took me a little longer before I loved it, but the more I read, the better it got. I loved the suspense and the danger, the heat and passion between Jack and Lynn both in the bedroom and out when they would banter, and especially the wit. I'm a sucker for a funny book and Ms. Gilmer definitely delivered on that. It was a fabulous read and I'm a little sad that it's over, but I'm glad it all worked out.
Fantasy Girl is a standalone, it's mostly told from Lynn's point of view, but you do hear from a few more people, and Jack and Lynn do get a HEA.
