Forcing herself to find her voice when Shaw lifted his mouth from hers to take a deep breath, Waverlee flashed a furtive glance up at his darkened eyes. “Wow,” she breathed shakily, clutching handfuls of his light blue dress shirt in her fists as the world seemed to spin at warp speed, “I..I…don’t think I’ve ever felt anything like that before,” she whispered, the words catching in her throat as his finger swept against her lower lip.
“Then you best hold on real tight to me, baby, ‘cause I’m just getting started,” he replied, dropping his head to steal another deep, wet kiss from her lips as he curved one big hand around her neck, wrapping her silky hair around his fist and tugging gently.
My gosh, but Waverlee is a stubborn young thing! She doesn't want to depend on anyone and wants to do everything for herself and I liked that, although I wouldn't have minded if she accepted help from Shaw when she needed it. I could understand her insecurities and hesitations, though. Waverlee's determined, she's a hard worker and she's nice and sweet. I liked a lot about her and I'm glad she saw the light with Shaw.
I loved Shaw - he pretty much checked off every thing I love in a hero! He's an alpha, protective, possessive, and sweet. He's absolutely crazy about Waverlee and I couldn't get enough of him. Shaw melted my heart more than once and he completely stole it.
One More Night was sexy, fast, and lovely. There were moments that frustrated me, there was a little bit of cheesiness, but not too much, but more than that, though, it was a heart melting, heartwarming ride. It was an enjoyable read and I can't wait for the Sarah O'Rourke book!
One More Night is a standalone, it's told from Shaw and Waverlee's POV and they do get their happily-ever-after.
