Sonja's Review
I fell in love with the Darkest London series when I first read Soulbound last year and I could not wait to read Forevermore! I was just so excited for it and it did NOT disappoint - in fact, it was even better than I thought it would be. It was absolutely incredible and I couldn't love it anymore if I tried!
Okay, I'm going to talk about our hero and heroine and then I'm going to completely geek out about Forevermore and fangirl all over Ms. Callihan.
First off, I loved Layla - she's the strong, stubborn type of heroine who's willing to fight and do what she has to get her man. Layla is confident and sassy and determined; she doesn't let Sin push her away and if she has to be a little devious, in a good way, to try to force his hand and give into her, then more power to her - I loved it! Layla is simply fantastic and I wouldn't change a thing about her.
Sin is one sinfully hot and sexy hero but there's so much more to him than just his name implies. He broke my heart with all he's faced and with the inner demons he struggles with. He has such a good heart, it just takes him awhile to see it. Sin is sweet, protective, and you can count on him to have your back. He is a wonderful hero and I know you'll love him just as much as I do!
I didn't realize that Forevermore was going to be the last book in the Darkest London series until right before I started reading it and although I've come to this series late and I've only read the last two books in it so far, I can't tell you how much I'm going to miss it. It is so easy to fall in love with these books and these characters - they are deep and beautiful and magical and will touch your heart. I'm so glad I still have books left to read because I'm not ready to say goodbye and even though I love the way Ms. Callihan writes contemporary, I sincerely hope that she writes more historical and paranormal romances in the future!
And speaking of Ms. Callihan's contemporary writing, I read Idol a few weeks ago and before that I hadn't read her for a year, so while I knew that she had range, it wasn't until I read one of her contemporary books and one of her historical paranormal books close together that I realized just how much range she has! Paranormal and historical romances are hard enough to write and to make them good is no easy task, but combining the two genres, making sure everything comes together and flows, and making it amazing - well, that is just outstanding and Ms. Callihan definitely delivers all of that and she makes it seem so smooth and effortless. I am so impressed and in awe of the talent she possesses - it absolutely blows me away and I will "forevermore" be one of her readers.
Forevermore was a stunning, riveting, heart pounding read full of passion, heartache, strength, hope, and love. It was truly remarkable, I wholeheartedly loved it, and even if you aren't particularly a fan of the historical or paranormal genre, you should give this book a try because it is so amazing and it just might change your mind about the two genres!
Forevermore is the final book in the Darkest London series, it's told from multiple points of view, and Layla and Sin, along with everyone else, get their happy ending!
