Sonja's Review
I wanted to read Midnight Mass as soon as I heard about it because I love Sierra Simone and I loved Priest! Ms. Simone loves to test to my boundaries, so I was little on edge before and even after I started reading it. It took me a little while to calm down and ultimately I knew I just had to suck it up and have faith in the author and the characters. I'm glad I did because it was an amazing book and I loved it!
At the end of Priest, I wasn't Poppy's biggest fan. I understand why everything happened, but a part of me just couldn't get over it and I'm so happy that Ms. Simone wrote Midnight Mass because I was actually able to let it go and she became a worthy heroine in my eyes! It was just the kind of closure I needed and I really love Poppy now!
Well, I love Tyler Bell even more than I did before! He loses sight of himself a little and that worried me more than it angered me. I didn't think that he was in the right though and there were definitely times when he frustrates me, but I think being inside his head and feeling all his emotions helped. And that's not to say that I wasn't extremely relieved when he pulled his head out of his butt, woke up, and found himself again. Tyler became an even better man and I couldn't but fall for him even more!
Midnight Mass is a heart wrenching, beautiful read full of passion, loss, lessons, and regrowth. It made my cry, made my heart race and pound in my ears, and it touched me. It is a fast, powerful, moving book and I absolutely loved it!
Midnight Mass should be read after Priest, it's told from Tyler's POV, and Tyler and Poppy are stronger together more than ever!
~ 4.5 Stars
