Lia's Review
The Black Lotus series has finally reached its conclusion after almost two years. Bang left my slack jawed. Echo had my nerves on edge and me chewing through my finger nails. Hush, however, left me a wee bit disappointed.
The writing is great, the intricacies of the story E.K. Blair has weaved are engrossing. I was so excited to finish this series out and finally solve the enigma. But as I read on and on I also became a little bored. It lacked the luster that the previous books had and I felt the story was really reaching. I know it's fiction, I get it, but something was just off for me. It just had TOO much going on.
The series as a whole was pretty good, I don't know if I just had my expectations set too high or what. That could definitely be, but that's on me. Hush just left me, hushed. I didn't close the book and feel excited and want to tell everyone about it. I was just really meh.
